Apples In Blankets


2 1-pound packages frozen puff pastry, thawed
2 eggs, beaten with
1 tablespoon milk
1 cup raisins
1 cup sugar
6 tablespoons bread crumbs
1 tablespoon cinnamon
4 apples, peeled, halved, and cored


  1. Preheat oven to 400F. Spray a baking sheet with non-stick vegetable spray.
  2. On a lightly floured board, roll sheets of pastry into large rectangles. Cut into 4-inch squares. Brush with egg mixture.
  3. In a small bowl, combine raisins, sugar, bread crumbs, and cinnamon.
  4. Place 1 tablespoon of the mixture on each square of pastry. Arrange apple halves on top. Sprinkle with more crumb mixture. Fold dough over apple on four sides to enclose completely. Brush with egg mixture.
  5. From leftover dough, cut out small rounds with a scalloped cookie
  6. cutter. Place on top of pastries; brush with egg mixture. Place
  7. pastries on prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 15 minutes; reduce oven temperature to 350F. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown
