Candy Orange Slice Cake


1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. butter
4 eggs
1 can angel flake coconut
1 lb. orange slice candy
8 oz. pitted dates
2 c. pecans
1 tsp. soda mixed in buttermilk
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 c. plain flour


  1. Chop or cut candy, dates and nuts into sm. pieces. Melt butter and pour over the chopped ingredients.
  2. Mix sugar, eggs, flour and buttermilk together and pour over melted butter and other ingredients. Add angel flake coconut, blending all together.
  3. Bake in greased and floured tube pan for 2 hours at 300 degrees.
