Chewy Chocolate Cookie


Do not overbake as the cookies will soft.
They puff during baking, but flatten upon cooling.


1 1/4 cups butter or regular margarine, softened
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
2 cups flour, unsifted
3/4 cup baking cocoa
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup finely chopped nuts


  1. Cream butter or sugar in a large mixer bowl. Add the eggs and the vanilla. Blend well.
  2. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt. Blend this into the creamed mixture.
  3. Stir in the nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  4. Bake at 350 oven for 8 to 10 minutes.
  5. Cool on cookie sheet until set. This will take about one minute. Then remove to wire rack and cool completely. Glaze with chocolate glaze.
