Chewy Chocolate Cookies


Do Not Overbake...


1 1/4 cups butter or regular margarine, softened
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
2 cups unsifted all purpose flour
3/4 cup regular or dutch cocoa
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup finely chopped pecans or walnuts


  1. Cream butter or margarine in a large mixer bowl using a wooden spoon.
  2. Add the eggs, one at a time, and blend well after each addition.
  3. Stir in the vanilla, mixing to combine.
  4. Sift the cocoa, flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Add to the creamed mixture and blend using a wooden spoon. Stir in the nuts.
  6. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 for 8 to 9 minutes.
