Christmas EggNog Bread


Makes 2 loaves, 10 servings


2 1/2 cups All purpose flour
1 cup White sugar
1 Tbsp. Baking powder
1/2 t sp. Salt
3/4 tsp. Nutmeg
3 Eggs, beaten
1 cup Half and half (or cream)
1 cup Vegetable oil
1 1/2 tsp. Vanilla extract
1 1/2 tsp. Brandy extract
1 tsp. Almond extract
1/2 cup Chopped almonds
1/2 cup Maraschino cherries


  1. In mixing bowl, stir together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.
  2. In separate container beat together eggs, half and half, oil, and the three extracts. Stir into dry ingredients; mix well. Fold in nuts and cherries.
  3. Turn into two greased loaf pans. Bake at 350F for 40-45 minutes. Cool in pans 10 minutes. Remove from pans and cool on rack.
