Rocky Road Brownies


1 1/4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup miniature marshmallows
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup butter or regular margarine
1 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
1/2 cup flour
1/3 cup cocoa
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt


  1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease a 9 inch square baking pan.
  2. Stir together the chocolate chips, marshmallows, and nuts. Set aside.
  3. Place the butter in a large microwave safe bowl. Microwave at HIGH for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes or until melted.
  4. Add sugar, vanilla, and egg. Beat well using a wooden spoon. Add the flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt. Blend well.
  5. Spread the batter in the prepared pan. Bake for 22 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle chocolate chip mixture over the top. Continue baking for 5 minutes or until marshmallows have softened and puffed slightly. Cool completely. With wet knife, cut into squares.
