Sweet Chilli Sauce


Paprika, maple syrup, and Thai chillies are combined with Chinese seasonings in this fusion recipe that makes a sweet alternative to more traditional Asian chilli sauce.


5 Thai Chillies chopped very small
500 ml maple syrup
3 Tbsp cider vinegar
4 Tbsp sherry
4 Tbsp light soy sauce
2 tsp minced ginger
3 cloves garlic, crushed
1/4 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp paprika


  1. Mix together chillies, maple syrup, vinegar, sherry, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, pepper and paprika.
  2. Simmer ingredients in a saucepan, stirring frequently over low heat until thickened (about 30 minutes).
